Plan Your Culinary Experience Before Takeoff: SWISS' Technological Upgrade Allows Meal Preview and Pre-Order

The Swiss airline is launching digital menus for all its flights, allowing passengers to preview the dishes that will be served on the flight, and even select and order meals before departure

Swiss airline SWISS announced today (June 9, 2026) the launch of a new service allowing passengers to preview the food and beverage menus served on their flights. The digital menus are now available on the company's website and official app, for all service classes and on all of the company's flight routes.

The move, initially announced last year, is designed to give passengers earlier information about their flight experience and allow them to better plan their trip. The menus are available to view as early as six weeks before the flight date, without needing to enter a booking number.

According to Heike Birlenbach, SWISS's Chief Customer Officer, many passengers wanted to know in advance what meals they would be offered during the flight, similar to checking a restaurant menu before arrival. She says the new service provides greater transparency and allows passengers to anticipate the flight experience from the preparation stage.

In addition to viewing menus, passengers who enter their booking details will, depending on the destination and class of service, be able to pre-select their desired meal or order special meals before the flight.

Premium Economy, Business and First Class passengers will be able to enjoy an expanded selection or guaranteed availability of their preferred meal up to 24 hours before departure. On most short-haul flights in Europe, Economy Class passengers can also pre-order meals up to 36 hours before departure.

All culinary services have been centralized on a new platform called "SWISS Culinary Journey", which brings together menus, selection options and pre-ordering in one place. The company clarified that, alongside the digital platform, printed menus will continue to be available during the flight itself.
