Wizz Air. Photo: Shutterstock Wizz Air announced on Wednesday, July 22, a significant expansion of its operations in Kosovo, with the opening of a new base at Pristina International Airport starting in November 2026.
As part of the move, the company will station one Airbus A321neo aircraft in Pristina and launch three new routes to Brussels, Baden-Baden and Basel. At the same time, the company plans to increase the frequency of flights on the route to Dortmund.
According to the company's announcement, the investment is expected to add approximately 500,000 seats to the flight offering, create 40 new direct jobs, and expand Wizz Air's route network from Pristina to nine routes in six countries.
Kosovo operations began in 2017 with the first flight to Budapest, and now the company is significantly expanding its presence in the country by establishing a local base.
The move was announced by Andras Szabo, a Wizz Air senior executive, as part of the company's plan to strengthen air connectivity in the region and expand flight options for passengers.
