The new Naples–Trieste and Milan Malpensa–Comiso routes will provide travelers with additional options for exploring Italy, while the Turin–Sharm el-Sheikh and Palermo–Tirana services expand access to popular holiday and visiting-friends-and-relatives destinations.

Since launching operations in the country in 2004, the airline says it has transported more than 138 million passengers to and from Italy. In 2026 alone, Wizz Air is operating a network of 320 routes connecting Italy with 33 countries.
Italy has become an increasingly competitive market for low-cost carriers in recent years, with airlines expanding capacity to meet strong demand for leisure travel across Europe and the Mediterranean. Destinations such as Tirana and Sharm el-Sheikh have seen significant growth thanks to their affordability, favorable climate, and increasing popularity among European travelers.
The latest expansion also underscores Wizz Air's continued focus on regional airports, providing passengers with more direct connections while helping support local tourism and economic activity.
With the Winter 2026 season approaching, travelers departing from Italy will soon have even more options—whether it's a city break in Trieste, a Sicilian getaway in Comiso, a Red Sea escape to Sharm el-Sheikh, or a weekend exploring Albania's vibrant capital.
