Travelers flying between Australia and the Middle East will soon have more options, with Virgin Australia set to double its Sydney to Doha service.

Sydney Airport has today, July 27, 2026, announced that Virgin Australia, in partnership with Qatar Airways, will increase flights between Sydney and Doha from once daily to twice daily between December 7, 2026, and March 28, 2027.

The additional service will bring the total number of direct daily flights between Sydney and Doha to three, significantly boosting connectivity between Australia and more than 160 destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

All flights on the route will feature the carrier's award-winning Qsuite Business Class, widely regarded as one of the world's leading premium cabin products.

The expansion is the latest development in the growing partnership between Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways, which has helped strengthen Australia's international aviation links following increased demand for long-haul travel.

According to Sydney Airport, the enhanced schedule will provide passengers with more than 7,000 seats per week, offering greater flexibility for both business and leisure travelers heading overseas during the busy summer months.

The Sydney to Doha route has become an important gateway for Australians traveling to destinations throughout Europe and beyond, allowing passengers to connect seamlessly through Qatar Airways' extensive global network.

Doha's Hamad International Airport serves as one of the world's largest aviation hubs, connecting travelers to major cities including London, Paris, Rome, Johannesburg, Cairo, and Istanbul, among many others.

The introduction of a second daily Virgin Australia service also underscores Sydney Airport's efforts to expand international capacity and provide travelers with more premium travel choices.

The additional flights will commence on December 7, 2026, and remain in operation through March 28, 2027, coinciding with one of Australia's busiest outbound travel periods.
