Flydubai returns to Budapest Photo: Flydubai flydubai has announced that it will resume direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Budapest Airport (BUD) from July 31, 2026. The route will initially operate three times a week, and from October 25, the frequency will increase to a daily flight, in order to meet the growing demand in the autumn and winter seasons.
The new route restores the direct link between the UAE and Hungary, allowing passengers easy access to Dubai and more than 120 destinations in the airline’s network. The service is designed for both leisure and business travelers, as well as those visiting family and friends.
flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said the resumption of operations in Budapest reflects the airline's long-term commitment to the Hungarian market and the growing economic and cultural ties between the two countries. He said Budapest is one of the airline's strategic destinations in Europe, and the renewed route will also strengthen Dubai's position as a global hub for trade, business and tourism.
The flights will be operated in collaboration with Emirates, so that passengers can enjoy a single ticket booking, baggage transfer to the final destination and convenient connectivity to the joint network of destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia.
Through Dubai, travelers from Hungary will be able to continue to popular destinations such as Kenya, the Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The new route to Budapest joins flydubai's ongoing expansion, which in recent months has launched new routes to Aleppo, Syria, Bangkok, Thailand and Benghazi, Libya. Later this year, on September 23, the company is expected to add Pokhara, Nepal, to its network of destinations.
