Ryanair has extended its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for another five years, reinforcing the airline's commitment to digital transformation as it targets carrying 300 million passengers annually by 2034.

AI and Cloud Computing Technologies

The renewed agreement, announced on July 27, 2026, will see the European carrier using AWS cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies across its operations, from managing flight schedules to improving customer experiences and employee productivity.

AWS technologies already support many of Ryanair's core systems, including its website, which serves millions of passengers, as well as operational planning for the airline's fleet of 647 aircraft and approximately 3,900 daily flights.

Under the expanded partnership, Ryanair plans to increase its use of advanced AI tools, including Amazon Quick, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. The airline said these technologies will help streamline operations, provide employees with real-time information, and further digitize internal processes.

Ryanair is also developing applications designed specifically for its workforce. One example is Ryanair Connect, an internal platform that allows cabin crew to view schedules, access flight details, request annual leave, and swap shifts. The app also includes an AI-powered chatbot that can answer questions about company policies and training materials.

The airline is additionally rolling out Amazon Quick, described as a personalized AI assistant that enables teams to interact with company data using natural language, helping employees make faster and more informed decisions.

Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said the partnership has played an important role in supporting the carrier's growth and low cost business model.

"In addition to our unrivalled low fares, operational performance, and network, Ryanair also leads the air travel industry in digital transformation," Wilson said. "As we continue to grow to 300 million passengers by 2034, having the right technology partners is critical."

AWS executives described aviation as an industry undergoing rapid change, with cloud technology and AI reshaping both airline operations and the passenger experience.

The agreement highlights how major airlines are increasingly investing in technology to improve efficiency and support future growth. For Ryanair, which carried more than 200 million passengers last year, digital innovation is becoming as important as fleet expansion in achieving its long-term ambitions.
