The combination of turquoise seas, white villages, picturesque sunsets, fine food, and a relaxed atmosphere makes almost any island the perfect place to escape to with your partner - and not just on the islands. Still, there are a few destinations that manage to impress. Here are five of them.
Who would have thought that we would start our article in Crete, the largest of the Greek islands? Yet, those in the know know that the giant island has quite a few small, romantic, and magical spots, some of which make you feel like you're alone in the world.

Seitan limania Beach, which is usually the Instagram model of beaches, can be extremely romantic if you arrive early in the morning before the crowds get too much. Find a spot on the beach (or a small cave in the water) and you'll feel like you have the whole place to yourself.
Another point is the wild beaches in the area of the town of Kissamos. The large spaces in the area will allow you to feel like you are on a deserted island, or at least on a beach that is all yours, and yours alone.
It's hard to talk about Greek romance without Santorini. The volcanic island, with its whitewashed houses and blue domes, has become one of the most Instagrammable destinations in the world.

Boutique hotels with private infinity pools, gourmet restaurants with breathtaking views, sunset cruises to hot springs and local wineries also add to the atmosphere.
In recent years, the island of Milos has become one of the most sought-after among couples. It is known for its 70 beaches, each with a unique character, some of which are adorned with white limestone rocks that create stunning color contrasts.

Unlike much of Greece, Kefalonia is one of the greener parts of the country. The beautiful beaches provide the perfect backdrop for romantic moments, and cave cruising can also be a great complementary experience.

If you want to go for a romantic walk, you can do so among the bougainvillea flowers of the alleys of the historic Plaka neighborhood.
