IHG Hotels & Resorts, which operates more than 7,000 hotels worldwide, announced the launch of a beta version of a new search engine based on artificial intelligence on the company's website and in the IHG One Rewards app. The heart of the development is intuitive search performed in the customer's language.

Instead of selecting filters or filling out forms, users can simply describe the type of vacation they are looking for, destination, purpose of travel, personal preferences or desired amenities, and the system will suggest suitable hotels.

Recommendations include interactive maps, real-time availability, prices, detailed information about the hotel, and even the option to book using money, club points, or a combination of the two.

The company says the recommendations are based on IHG’s verified hotel data and guest reviews, with the goal of providing reliable and up-to-date information. During the beta period, users will be offered both the traditional search engine and the new search option, so everyone can choose their preferred search method.

At the same time, IHG announced that in the coming months it will launch a new content platform that will allow hotels to upload richer information, including videos, floor plans and updated images, with the aim of improving their visibility in AI-based search engines.

The move comes after the launch of the IHG app on ChatGPT earlier this year.
