Located on Saadiyat Island, the museum will become part of an impressive collection of institutions that already includes Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, and teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi. Together, they will transform the Saadiyat Cultural District into one of the world's most significant cultural destinations.

Designed by legendary architect Frank Gehry, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi promises to be an attraction in its own right. The sprawling complex spans 80,000 square meters and features 30 galleries, a dramatic central atrium, and ten towering sculptural cones that rise as high as 88 meters above the surrounding landscape.

The museum's mission extends far beyond architecture. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will focus on modern and contemporary art from the 1960s to the present, bringing together works from around the world while highlighting perspectives from the Middle East and beyond.

Since 2009, the institution has quietly built a collection intended to reflect Abu Dhabi's role as a meeting point between cultures. Visitors will explore exhibitions centered on themes such as storytelling, language, popular culture, abstraction, and humanity's relationship with the land.

Officials say the museum has been designed as a place of dialogue and discovery.

"Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a defining moment in our cultural journey," said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi. "Culture is the most enduring bridge between peoples and a building block for forward-looking societies."

Dr. Mariët Westermann, Director and CEO of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, described the museum as "a source of wonder, a hub of connection, and a place of curiosity and joy."

With its opening now less than five months away, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is poised to become one of the most important museum launches in recent years, offering visitors a new way to experience the art and ideas that have shaped the modern world.
