One month from now, on September 4, 2026, the new and large-scale water park "Great Tides" will officially open on Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL) private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay.

The water park covers almost 24 dunams, with a total area of about 1,093 dunams. Among the attractions in the park: a sweeping tunnel called "The Wandering River", slides called "The Great Slide", a family area called "Splash Cay", an attraction tower called "Tidal Tower" and a variety of slides that also bring technological innovations to the industry.

Easier Access

Alongside these innovations, work was completed last year on the island's new dock, which has two berths for two ships.

The new pier provides convenient and safe access and eliminates the need to reach the island via lifeboats, which was customary in the past.

NCL launched the NCL Luna this year, the newest member of the Prima Plus series and a sister ship to the Aqua. The company's next ship, NCL Aura, is expected to be launched in May 2027.
