Photo: SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has been recognized as Europe's most punctual airline for July 2026, according to the latest Cirium On-Time Performance report, achieving an on-time arrival rate of 84.32% during one of the busiest months of the year for air travel.
The recognition comes at the height of the summer travel season, when airlines face heavy passenger demand, crowded airports, and increased operational challenges. Despite these pressures, SAS outperformed its European competitors by maintaining a high level of schedule reliability.
Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS, said the achievement reflects the airline's commitment to dependable service during one of aviation's most demanding periods.
"July puts every part of an airline's operation to the test, with high passenger volumes, congested airports and very little margin for disruption," he said. "Being named Europe's most punctual airline during this period is something we're incredibly proud of."
The July ranking continues a strong year for the Scandinavian carrier. Earlier in 2026, SAS was named the world's most punctual airline in both March and April, further demonstrating the airline's operational consistency.
Over the past two years, SAS has secured seven first-place rankings in Europe and four global number-one rankings, underscoring its sustained focus on punctuality and operational performance.
This year's recognition also coincides with a major milestone for the airline as SAS celebrates its 80th anniversary.
Cirium's On-Time Performance rankings are regarded as one of the aviation industry's leading benchmarks, measuring the percentage of flights that arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time.
