Vegetarian ramen. Photo: Shutterstock Passengers traveling through Birmingham Airport can now enjoy pan-Asian cuisine before boarding, with Wagamama officially opening a new restaurant in the terminal's departure lounge.
Located in the airport's new commercial concourse, just beyond World Duty Free and close to gates 1–20, the 363-square-meter restaurant seats up to 180 guests and is open daily from 4:00 a.m. until the final departure.

Photo: ShutterstockThe new venue offers Wagamama's signature menu, including chicken katsu curry, ramen, rice bowls, and plant-based dishes, alongside a dedicated breakfast menu featuring Asian-inspired twists on traditional morning favorites. Travelers can choose to dine in or take their meals onboard.
The restaurant has been delivered in partnership with The Restaurant Group Concessions (TRGC), which already operates Giraffe and Indian Brewery at Birmingham Airport.
Richard Gill, Commercial Director at Birmingham Airport, said the opening comes at an ideal time as the airport welcomes a busy summer travel season.
"Wagamama is a great addition to our restaurant offerings at Birmingham Airport. It's a brand our passengers know and love, bringing even more choice while strengthening the range of high-quality food and drink available throughout the day," he said.
Jonathan Knight, CEO of TRGC, described the opening as another milestone in the company's long-standing partnership with the restaurant chain, while Wagamama's SVP Franchise & Partnerships International, Francisco Neves, said the new location allows the brand to bring its fresh dining experience to even more travelers.
The opening also supports Birmingham Airport's wider terminal improvements, including a redesigned airside commercial area aimed at creating a smoother passenger journey between shopping, dining and departure gates.
