Photo: Shutterstock Dublin Airport in Ireland recorded its busiest month in its history, with 3,839,635 passengers passing through its gates during July, an increase of 2.3% compared to July 2025. This is also the 16th consecutive month in which the number of passengers has increased.
From the beginning of 2026 to the end of July, almost 22 million passengers passed through the airport, an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
The congestion was felt throughout the month: on each of the 31 days of July, more than 100,000 passengers passed through the port. The busiest day was Sunday, July 12, when 133,472 passengers passed through the terminals, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same day last year.
Despite the high volume of activity, the port reports good operational performance. 88.7% of departing passengers passed through security screening in less than 15 minutes, and 92.7% did so in less than 20 minutes. In the Fast Track lane, 78.3% of passengers passed through in less than five minutes.
The surge in passenger traffic is largely due to the summer season, when many Irish families are on holiday, as well as an increase in the number of tourists visiting the country. The World Cup football matches also contributed to demand, particularly among passengers from the UK and Europe who continued via Dublin to North America, using the early American border control facilities at the port.
The most popular flight destinations in July were London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Manchester, Malaga and London Gatwick.
A total of 25,151 flights operated at Dublin Airport during the month, with an average load factor of 89%. The average baggage claim time was 28 minutes.
