Marriott Bonvoy has named Filipino tennis star Alex Eala as the face of its Tennis The World campaign in Asia Pacific excluding China, bringing the rising player into a partnership focused on tennis, travel and exclusive fan experiences.
The collaboration marks a new chapter for Marriott Bonvoy as the travel loyalty program uses sport to connect members with experiences through its Marriott Bonvoy Moments platform. Eala, one of the most prominent young players to emerge from Southeast Asia, was selected for her rapid rise on the international tennis circuit and growing global following.
“Alex embodies so much of what Marriott Bonvoy stands for,” said John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer, APEC, Marriott International. He highlighted Eala's authenticity, ambition and connection to the region, as well as her recent breakthrough WTA title and victories against established players.
For Eala, the partnership also reflects the role travel has played throughout her tennis career.
“Every tournament brings the opportunity to experience new places, meet new people and create memories that stay with you long after the match is over,” Eala said. She added that she was excited to work with Marriott Bonvoy because of its focus on travel and meaningful experiences.
Australian Open 2027 Access for Members
The partnership comes as Marriott Bonvoy prepares for its sixth year as the Official Hotel Partner of the Australian Open.
Marriott Bonvoy members can currently access an exclusive presale for tickets to the Australian Open 2027, which will take place from January 11 to 31 at Melbourne Park in Melbourne.
The presale is available to members ahead of the general ticket release and closes on August 12 at 11:59 p.m. AEDT. Eligible members receive an exclusive code by email that can be used to purchase tickets during the presale.
The ticket opportunity is expected to be the first of several tennis-focused experiences connected to the new campaign.
More Marriott Bonvoy Moments Planned
Marriott Bonvoy said additional opportunities will be announced in the coming months, including experiences that could give members the chance to meet Eala in person.
The campaign is designed to bring fans closer to tennis both at major tournaments and through experiences available across the region. For Marriott Bonvoy, the partnership combines its travel offering with a sport that has a growing following across Asia Pacific.
Eala's involvement also gives the campaign a distinctly regional profile as the young Filipino continues to build her reputation on the global tennis stage.
