The record came during what the airport, which recently announced it will introduce a new "Fast Track" system designed to cut waiting times and improve the passenger experience, says was the busiest week in its history, covering August 3 to 9, 2026.
During the seven-day period, the airport handled 91,393 passengers and recorded 755 takeoffs and landings.
The figures highlight the strong summer demand at Cluj Airport, which serves as one of Romania's major international aviation hubs.
Cluj Airport has continued to expand its network and passenger traffic in recent years. In 2025, it handled more than 3.58 million passengers and recorded more than 30,000 total aircraft movements.
The airport serves destinations across Europe and beyond, with airlines including Wizz Air, Ryanair, HiSky, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and TAROM among its operators.
