Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to reconnect Scandinavia and India with a new year-round nonstop service between Copenhagen and Mumbai, marking the airline's return to India after 17 years.
The new route will begin on October 1, 2026 , with SAS operating five flights per week using an Airbus A330 with 266 seats. Flights are already open for sale across the airline's booking channels.

SAS said the new connection is designed to support leisure travel, business links and cultural exchange between Scandinavia and India. The airline also highlighted Copenhagen Airport's role as an international hub, allowing passengers from India to connect onward to destinations across its European and long-haul network, including New York, Boston and Toronto.

The return to India comes as SAS continues to strengthen its international network. The airline said the new service will provide passengers with greater connectivity between Northern Europe and India while offering year-round travel rather than a seasonal operation.
For travelers, the route will create a direct alternative to connecting itineraries between Scandinavia and Mumbai, while Copenhagen will serve as a gateway for passengers traveling onward to other destinations served by SAS.
With flights beginning in October, passengers will be able to travel non-stop between Copenhagen and Mumbai five times a week from the start of the new service.
