After it launched its first-ever flight to Europe on the Seattle-Rome route on April 29, 2026, followed by a new direct service route to London Heathrow and Iceland's Reykjavík later on, Alaska Airlines is ready to add its fourth and fifth European destinations to its network. The company also offers nonstop service to Seoul and Tokyo.
The new routes, announced today, August 20, are Athens and Paris. Flights to both destinations are now available for booking, and new services scheduled to launch in May 2027.

The Seattle-Athens route will begin on May 12, 2027, with three flights per week. Alaska says the seasonal service will make history as its first nonstop connection between Seattle and Athens and the first nonstop flight to the Greek capital from the Pacific Northwest.
The airline will operate the route through October 2027.
Flights to the Greek capital will depart Seattle at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in Athens at 2:20 p.m. the following day. The return service will leave Athens at 4:20 p.m. and arrive in Seattle at 6:55 p.m.
Paris will follow on May 25, 2027, with five weekly flights between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The service is also scheduled to operate through October.
Seattle-Paris flights will depart at 5:25 p.m. and arrive in Paris at 12:25 p.m. the following day. Return flights will depart Paris at 2:25 p.m. and reach Seattle at 3:50 p.m.
Both routes will be operated using Alaska Airlines' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring the carrier's long-haul international cabin experience.
Premium Amenities
Passengers traveling in international business class will have access to lie-flat suites, while Alaska says premium amenities will be available across the aircraft. Atmos Rewards members will also be able to use complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi as the high-speed service continues rolling out across the Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines fleets.
The airline is offering introductory roundtrip Main Cabin fares starting at $999, with the promotional fares available for purchase in the United States through August 26, subject to restrictions.
The additions will bring Alaska's intercontinental network from Seattle to seven destinations, joining existing nonstop services to Iceland, London, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo.
The airline said the expansion is part of plans to add at least five more intercontinental destinations by 2030, with additional Boeing 787 Dreamliners also planned.
Alaska Airlines describes Seattle as its largest international hub and says it offers more nonstop international destinations from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport than any other airline.
