The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to Montréal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) "following an accident involving an Airbus A350 operated by French Bee."

The accident occurred Monday evening, August 24, at the Montreal airport. The TSB said its investigators will gather information and assess the occurrence as part of its response.

The deployment follows the death of a Samsic employee who was involved in the tragic accident at Montréal-Trudeau while performing their duties.

Air Canada expressed its condolences to the employee's family, loved ones and colleagues, saying it was devastated by the loss.

Aéroports de Montréal, which operates Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, also confirmed the death and said the entire YUL airport community was mourning the loss.

"It is with profound sadness that ADM learned of the passing of a member of the YUL airport community, an employee of our partner Samsic, who passed away while performing their duties. The entire YUL airport community is mourning this loss.

Our thoughts are with their family, loved ones and colleagues, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences. During this difficult time, our hearts are with everyone affected by this tragedy," said YUL in a statement.

The TSB investigation will focus on gathering information about the accident and assessing what occurred. Further details will depend on the findings of the investigation.
