Under the agreement, EGYPTAIR will become the Exclusive Official Airline for FC Barcelona's men's football first team, basketball team and handball team. The EGYPTAIR logo will also appear on the front of the handball team's jersey during games.
The agreement is part of EGYPTAIR's plan to expand its fleet and international route network. The airline said the partnership demonstrates its commitment to improving its services and providing a superior travel experience.
For FC Barcelona, the agreement is intended to extend the global reach of the Barça brand, connect with new markets and strengthen its position as one of the world's most influential sports teams.
Marc Bruix, FC Barcelona's Global Sponsorships director, said the partnership with EGYPTAIR supports the club's international expansion.
“Connecting FC Barcelona with EGYPTAIR, a benchmark for excellence and history in international aviation is a natural step to take in our expansion. This sponsorship reinforces our commitment to take the Barça values and passion to our followers in the Middle East and Africa, where we have an amazing fan community”.
Captain Ahmed Adel, president of EGYPTAIR Holding Company, said the sponsorship represents an important achievement for the airline.
“Sponsoring one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, the current LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup champions, is an unprecedented achievement in the history of our national airline.”
Adel said the collaboration brings together EGYPTAIR's 95-year history with FC Barcelona's global sporting presence and creates opportunities to connect with football fans around the world.
He also said the partnership reflects a shared vision of highlighting the role of EGYPTAIR in connecting cultures, civilizations and people, while sport has played a similar role throughout history.
In June, Emirates and Real Madrid announced a renewal of their partnership through 2031, extending a partnership that will span nearly two decades.
