Wollankstraße S-Bahn station in Berlin. Photo: Mo Photography Berlin / Shutterstock Significant change in S-Bahn train traffic in Berlin: As part of infrastructure work, there will be no stop at Wollankstraße station in the northbound direction toward Frohnau, Oranienburg, and Hennigsdorf.
The change applies to lines S1, S25 and S85, and is expected to last until Thursday, August 17, 2028, at 04:00. According to a statement from S-Bahn Berlin, the work is expected to last until summer 2028.
Because of the stop cancellation, passengers with a short-distance ticket (Kurzstrecke) to Wollankstraße station can reach the station by traveling from Humboldthain or Prenzlauer Allee via Schönholz station.
Passengers starting their journey at Wollankstraße station will be able to reach Wittenau or Karl-Bonhoeffer-Nervenklinik stations via an alternative route via Bornholmer Straße.
Single-trip ticket holders can also use the bypass routes. Travel to Wollankstraße will be possible via Schönholz, while travel from the station towards Schönholz will be via Bornholmer Straße.
Passengers wishing to get off at Wollankstraße station will need to travel to Schönholz station, change to the train in the opposite direction and return to Wollankstraße station.
Passengers wishing to board at Wollankstraße station are advised to travel one stop south to Bornholmer Straße station, and change there to the platform in the opposite direction. Bornholmer Straße station is also accessible to passengers in wheelchairs.
The changes do not affect trains traveling south towards Wannsee, Teltow Stadt and Grünau. Therefore, passengers in this direction can continue using the S-Bahn services without any changes.
The Berlin S-Bahn is announcing the change as part of the work announcements and recommends that passengers check the relevant routes before traveling, especially given the extended work period.
