Other areas of Nepal, including Gorkha, Nuwakot and Dhading, have also been affected.
Nepalese authorities and emergency services are responding to the situation and have warned of the risk of further flooding. Conditions may change rapidly.
Travelers in the affected region are advised to follow guidance from the Nepalese government and local authorities and remain alert to changing conditions.
The Nepalese government has established a toll-free emergency number, 1234, providing assistance in the Nepalese language. A dedicated 1144 hotline is also accessible within Nepal.
The UK’s Rapid Deployment Team has opened a Family Support Center at the British Embassy in Kathmandu to assist the family and friends of affected British nationals.
The center is open from 09:00 to 19:00, Monday to Sunday.
