Thailand Changes the Rules, Implements New Visa Requirements and Exemptions

Thailand is pushing a major change to its entry policy, which will also affect Israeli passport holders andants

According to an official announcement from the Department of Consular Services at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the amendment to the visa exemption, decided on May 19 this year, will take effect on September 15.

This reform of the visa exemption system will eliminate the exemption of up to 60 days, which has been valid for 93 countries to date. In its place, the exemption will be updated to only 30 days without a visa for tourist purposes.

The Thai Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the new rules will take effect 15 days after the announcement, on September 15. Anyone who entered Thailand under the existing arrangement or entered before the new date will be able to remain in the country until the end of the period of stay approved for them at the time of entry.
