Wizz Air will resume direct flights between Cluj-Napoca and Tel Aviv on September 7, 2026, restoring an important connection between Transylvania and Israel after a suspension of approximately six months.
The route will operate twice a week from Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, with flights scheduled on Mondays and Fridays. The service is expected to provide passengers from Cluj and across Transylvania with a direct option for travel to Tel Aviv.

Cluj County Council President Alin Tișe said the renewed connection represents an important step for the county's connectivity and economic development. According to Tișe, the route will strengthen links between communities while supporting tourism, business activity, investment and trade.
Viorel Federiga, President of the Board of Directors of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, also welcomed Wizz Air's decision to restore the service, describing the airport as an important development engine for the region.
David Ciceo, General Manager of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, said the return of the Tel Aviv route had been awaited by passengers following its suspension in the context of the geopolitical situation in the region.
He described Tel Aviv as a traditional destination from Cluj-Napoca and said its return further strengthens the airport's international network.

However, the airport has warned passengers that the Tel Aviv schedule remains subject to change because of the geopolitical situation in the region. Wizz Air will notify passengers through its official communication channels if there are changes to the schedule or a possible suspension of flights.
