The airline launched its Prague to Vilnius service on September 5, with flights operating three times a week. The new connection gives travelers in the Czech capital a direct link to Lithuania’s capital and adds another option for exploring the Baltic region.

The route is also expected to appeal to travelers looking for a relatively short European city break.
Wizz Air then launched its new Prague to Palermo service on September 6. The route operates four times a week and provides a direct connection between the Czech capital and Sicily.
Palermo offers a very different experience from Vilnius, with Mediterranean weather, historic architecture, lively markets and Sicilian cuisine. The new route gives Prague travelers another option for a warmer European getaway, particularly during the shoulder season.
Prague Airport lists Palermo as a new destination beginning September 6, while current flight schedules show Wizz Air Malta operating nonstop services between Prague and Palermo.
The Vilnius route also adds a new airline connection between the two capitals. Current schedules show Wizz Air operating three weekly flights from Prague to Vilnius, with the route served by Airbus A321neo aircraft.
The two new services strengthen Prague’s international connectivity while giving passengers more choice for short European trips. They also complement Wizz Air’s broader expansion across the region, as the airline continues to add routes to destinations popular with both leisure and business travelers.
For Prague passengers, the appeal is straightforward. Vilnius offers a compact Baltic city break filled with historic streets, architecture and cultural attractions, while Palermo provides access to Sicily’s food, beaches, history and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Last week, Prague Airport announced that it will work together with the Czech Police to expand and modernize the space for arrival border control in Terminal 1.
"The reason is the need to increase its capacity, especially during peak operating hours, and to shorten waiting times for passengers," explained the airport.
