Wizz Air continues to expand its operations in Romania, announcing the opening of a new operational base at Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, which will become the company's tenth base in the country.

According to Wizz Air's announcement, an Airbus A321neo aircraft will be stationed at the new base in the country's popular skiing destination starting in December 2026. At the same time, the company will launch four new routes from Brasov: to Chisinau in Moldova, Barcelona and Madrid in Spain, as well as to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden in Germany.

In addition, Wizz Air announced the expansion of the existing route from Brasov to Nuremberg.

Following the move, Wizz Air's destination network from Brasov will grow to 15 destinations in seven countries, as part of the low-cost carrier's continued expansion in the Romanian market.

The company said that the opening of the new base is intended to strengthen air connectivity from the region and allow passengers access to a greater number of destinations in Europe.
