From Madrid and Barcelona to Central America: European Airline Launches New Routes

Iberojet, the airline of Ávoris, Spain's leading global tour operator, has launched new connections to San Salvador from both Madrid and Barcelona, expanding its network between Spain and El Salvador.

Aena, Spain's airport operator, announced the launch of the new route from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, where the airport hosted the inauguration of Iberojet’s connection with San Salvador.

The Madrid route will operate once a week, with flights scheduled on Sundays.

San Salvador is a new destination for Iberojet from Madrid, giving passengers another option for traveling between the Spanish capital and El Salvador, home to the popular Santa Ana volcano.

Barcelona-El Prat Airport has also welcomed a new Iberojet route to San Salvador. Aena confirmed that the airline has launched the connection from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport as well.

The two new routes expand Iberojet’s presence between Spain and El Salvador, giving travelers in Madrid and Barcelona direct air connections to the Central American country.

The announcement comes as airlines continue to expand long-haul links between European airports and destinations in Latin America and Central America.

For Madrid, the new San Salvador service adds another destination to the airport’s extensive international network. For Barcelona, the launch provides another direct connection to El Salvador operated by Iberojet.

The Madrid service’s weekly Sunday schedule gives travelers a regular option for planning trips between the two countries, while the Barcelona launch adds another departure point for passengers in Catalonia and surrounding areas.

Iberojet’s destinations include Madrid with 9 direct routes, Costa Rica with one, Honduras with 2, Querétaro with one, Barcelona with 4, El Salvador with 2, Bangkok with 1, Cancún with 3, Lisbon with 3, Punta Cana with 3, Mauritius with one and La Romana with 2 direct routes.
