Photo: ©Air France Air France is preparing for a major move at New York JFK, where all of its flights will transfer to the airport’s New Terminal One starting next year. Alongside the move, the airline will open the largest lounge in its international network.
The new lounge will cover more than 2,700 square meters across two levels and will have space for more than 400 guests. Air France says the facility will showcase its take on French hospitality, with areas designed for dining, relaxation, work and personal care.
Eligible passengers will include La Première and Business customers, Flying Blue Elite Plus members, and qualifying travelers flying with KLM and other SkyTeam partner airlines. Flying Blue Ultimate members will also have access to a dedicated private area.
Food and drink will be a central part of the experience. The lounge will feature dining areas focused on French gastronomy, along with a bar offering a selection of French wines and champagnes.
Passengers looking to relax will have access to dedicated spaces for beauty treatments and rest, while separate areas will be available for those who need to work before their flights.
The lounge was designed by Air France teams together with French design agency MARKS Brandimage. The airline says the space is intended to reflect what it describes as the French art of travel, while giving passengers a more comfortable experience before departure.
La Première passengers will receive an additional level of service. They will have access to an exclusive section within the lounge, including a dining experience created specifically for them by a renowned French chef.
Air France also says the airport journey will extend beyond the lounge. The New Terminal One is being developed with new technology, retail and dining options and modern passenger facilities, creating a broader premium experience from arrival at JFK through to boarding.
The move will bring all Air France operations at JFK together under the new terminal and give the airline a much larger premium lounge than its current offering.
For passengers traveling between New York and France, the change will mean a new airport setting as well as access to a significantly expanded Air France lounge. The opening will also strengthen the airline’s premium presence at one of its most important international destinations.
