The airport said it understands the concern caused by the announcement of additional industrial action that could start on Wednesday evening (September 16) and called on Skeyes management and staff representatives to find a lasting solution to the dispute.
BSCA said the length and frequency of the strikes are placing significant pressure on airport operations and businesses connected to the airport.
The airport stressed that it has no involvement in the labor dispute, but said passengers, airlines and companies operating around Charleroi are likely to feel the effects if flight operations are disrupted.
Thousands of workers depend directly or indirectly on the airport, according to BSCA, which warned that prolonged disruption could also affect Wallonia's wider economic activity and attractiveness.
The precise impact on flights has not yet been confirmed. Airlines will contact passengers directly with information about individual flights, while Charleroi Airport said it will provide updates on the overall situation through its website and social media channels.
Airport teams will also assist passengers affected by any disruption and work to limit the impact on operations.
For now, BSCA is advising travelers to check their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport. The airport said further information will be provided once the exact details of the planned strike action are confirmed.
