Grand Hyatt is set to make its Cancun debut this December with the opening of Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort, an all-inclusive property in Puerto Cancun.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that the new resort, owned by Grupo Diestra, will bring the Grand Hyatt brand to one of Mexico’s best-known resort destinations for the first time.

The property is located within Puerto Cancun, a private waterfront development with a marina, golf course, shopping and dining. Cancun’s Hotel Zone and other major attractions are nearby, while Cancun International Airport is approximately 25 minutes away.

The resort will have 500 guestrooms, including 47 suites. Rooms will feature private terraces with either ocean or marina views, while selected suites will include private pools.

Grand Club rooms will also give guests access to the Grand Club, a private lounge offering continental breakfast, afternoon cocktails and other experiences.

Focus on Dining Options

The property will place a strong emphasis on dining, with 14 food and beverage outlets planned across the resort.

Among them are Quattro, a Northern Italian restaurant; Fiera San, a sushi and omakase concept; Kaab, serving breakfast, buffet and lunch; and Bistrot Cigalette, a French restaurant from chef Thierry Blouet.

Other venues include Chacho and Los Fuegos del Sur, focused on Argentine and Uruguayan-inspired cuisine, as well as Mona Limona, Leonora’s Boulevardier Bar & Terraza, Saká pool bar, Grand Café & Market, Fiera Tacos and Paradiso.

Spa and Wellness

Wellness will be another major part of the resort. The Ritua Sanctuary Spa will include outdoor relaxation areas, a traditional temazcal, fitness facilities and hammock lounges. The spa is also expected to offer a range of treatments inspired by local traditions.

Outside the spa, the resort will have nine outdoor pools, including an adults-only pool, an infinity pool and another pool at the Beach Club.

The private Beach Club will include its own restaurant and pool, with activities such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding available to guests.

The resort will also provide access to yacht and sailing trips from the nearby marina. Excursions will include visits to coral reefs, cenotes and archaeological sites, while families will have access to a dedicated Grand Kids Club.

Massive Meetings Space

Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort is also being positioned as a meetings and events destination. The property will have approximately 30,000 square feet of indoor event space on a single level, along with terraces, beach venues and poolside settings.

The main Great Ballroom can be divided into eight sections, while two breakout rooms and a boardroom will provide additional space for events.

The resort will also feature Mexican art throughout the property. An installation by artist Teresa Solar will be located at the entrance, while tiles designed by Mexican artist and designer María Pizarro will appear across the resort.

According to Hyatt, the December opening will expand its presence in Mexico's all-inclusive resort market while introducing the Grand Hyatt brand to Cancun.

For travelers, the new property combines an all-inclusive format with access to Puerto Cancun’s marina and beachfront setting, along with a large selection of restaurants, pools, wellness facilities and activities.
