Air Canada executive Mark Nasr has been named among Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2026, a national recognition for young Canadian leaders across business, public service and the community sector.

Major Recognition

Nasr is Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Air Canada, where he is responsible for the airline’s global operations and customer experience. His responsibilities include flight operations, the System Operations Control Center, maintenance and engineering, airports, in-flight service, contact centers, international operations, crew planning and scheduling, regional express carriers, and onboard cabins and systems.

Air Canada Chair Vagn Sørensen said the recognition reflects Nasr’s work across several areas of the airline, including the transformation of its Aeroplan loyalty program, digital development, customer experience and product strategy.

Before moving into his current operations role, Nasr served as Executive Vice President, Marketing & Digital and President of Aeroplan. In that position, he oversaw Air Canada’s products and services, customer amenities, brand, marketing communications and commercial sponsorships.

He also led the airline’s global technology portfolio, covering information technology, data and digital operations.

Nasr has played a role in several recent changes to Air Canada’s customer experience. His work included the launch of the airline’s Glowing Hearted brand experience and the next-generation aircraft interiors introduced with the Airbus A321XLR.

The design approach has also been extended beyond the aircraft cabin to Air Canada’s lounges, check-in areas, website and mobile app.

Nasr’s team also spearheaded the introduction of fast, free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members, while he oversaw changes to amenities and customer offerings across the airline’s cabins. These included premium snacks and complimentary wine and beer on flights, alongside ongoing cabin upgrades for Air Canada’s North American fleet.

Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 was founded in 1995 by Caldwell and recognizes professionals under 40 from a range of sectors. According to the organization, honourees are selected based on career progression, leadership, vision and innovation, community involvement and corporate social responsibility, and impact and influence.

The 2026 Top 40 Advisory Board, made up of 18 Canadian leaders, met on June 10 to select the honourees from a list developed by Caldwell.
