Safari in Durban. Photo: Shutterstock Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its network across Africa and the Indian Ocean with several new routes and increased services to destinations seeing strong demand.
Over the coming months, the airline plans to add flights from its Addis Ababa hub to Nacala in Mozambique, Port Harcourt in Nigeria and Durban in South Africa. Ethiopian Airlines will also extend its service to Mauritius through the end of January 2027.

Durban is known for attractions including the Golden Mile beachfront promenade and uShaka Marine World. The city also provides access to safari reserves and other destinations in the surrounding region.
Mozambique. Photo: ShutterstockEthiopian Airlines will launch its new Nacala service on October 27, with three weekly flights between Addis Ababa and the Mozambican coastal city. Flights from Addis Ababa to Nacala will include a stop in Blantyre, Malawi.
From December 1, the airline will operate four weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
Mauritius. Photo: ShutterstockMauritius will also remain on the Ethiopian Airlines network for longer than originally planned. Following continued demand, the airline is extending the route through January 31, 2027, with three weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Mauritius.
Alongside the network expansion, Ethiopian Airlines is offering several fare promotions.
Passengers aged 12 to 23 can receive a 10% discount on the base fare on selected destinations. The offer also includes one free date change. Bookings and ticketing under the promotion are available until November 30, 2026, for travel through February 28, 2027.
A separate 10% discount applies to selected destinations on tickets that include Ethiopian Airlines flights ET414 or ET415 between Tel Aviv and Addis Ababa. Bookings and ticketing under this offer are available until November 30, 2026, for travel through January 31, 2027.
The airline has also changed its baggage policy for new bookings. Since September 1, 2026, all Ethiopian Airlines fare types on new reservations include checked baggage at no additional charge.
Economy Class passengers can check two bags weighing up to 23 kilograms each, in addition to one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kilograms.
Business Class passengers can check two bags of up to 32 kilograms each and bring two pieces of carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kilograms each.
