Emirates is expanding its inflight entertainment offering with the launch of Dubai+, the first dedicated Emirati entertainment channel on its ice system.

The new channel brings UAE-produced drama, comedy, documentaries, family programming and podcasts to Emirates passengers around the world, adding a stronger local focus to the airline’s already extensive entertainment library.

Dubai+ will launch on ice with 10 programs, 35 episodes and more than 20 hours of content. The initial selection includes Dara, Wadima w Halema and Dannoun, alongside original productions and programming from Dubai TV and Sama Dubai.

The collection will continue to grow with additional titles and episodes, giving passengers a window into Emirati and regional storytelling during their flights.

Emirates already has a dedicated Dubai & UAE category on ice, featuring cultural and historical programming. Among the content available are My Story by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the short documentary Officer Cadet Mohammed bin Rashid, as well as productions exploring Emirati traditions, food, art and heritage.

Opera, Ballet and New Movies

Emirates is also introducing ice Opera House, a new collection dedicated to full-length opera, ballet and symphony performances.

The collection includes productions such as Carmen, Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly, Swan Lake and Cinderella, along with performances of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Bach's Mass in B Minor and John Williams: A Tribute.

Performers and institutions represented in the collection include The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet and New York City Ballet. Selected operas will also be available with subtitles in multiple languages.

The airline is adding 43 new TV box sets to ice, bringing the total to 399. Existing selections include Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, The Night Manager, Bluey and Planet Earth.

From October, passengers will also find new movie releases and a collection of restored classics, including The Godfather trilogy, Citizen Kane, Lawrence of Arabia, The Lord of the Rings, The Sound of Music and Kill Bill.

Emirates says its ice system now offers more than 3,000 movies and over 4,500 TV episodes, with up to 6,500 channels of on-demand content across more than 40 languages.

The platform also includes podcasts, music, children's programming, video games and language-learning content through uTalk, with lessons in 15 languages.

Entertainment and Connectivity

The latest entertainment expansion comes as Emirates continues to upgrade the technology behind ice. New-generation features include 4K and 4K HDR screens, spatial audio, enhanced live television and iceMoments, a short-form video feature designed to help passengers discover content.

At the same time, Emirates is rolling out Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet. The airline says 55 aircraft are now equipped with the service, allowing passengers to remain connected while using the entertainment system.

Emirates is also progressively introducing new Bowers & Wilkins noise-cancelling First Class headphones, with the airline expecting them to be available across most of its fleet by the end of 2026.

The airline's ice system has received multiple industry awards, including the 2026 APEX Best Global Entertainment Award and the Skytrax award for World's Best Airline Inflight Entertainment in 2026.
