Ryanair carried more than 20.1 million passengers in September 2026, marking a 4% increase from the same month last year as the Irish airline continued to see strong demand across its network.
20.1 Million Passengers, 111,700 Flights
The airline's latest traffic figures, released on Friday, October 2, show that Ryanair carried 20.1 million passengers during September, compared with 19.4 million in September 2025.
Ryanair operated more than 111,700 flights during the month, while its load factor remained unchanged at 94%.
Despite the increase in passenger numbers, the airline said more than 1,000 flights were cancelled during September.
Ryanair attributed the cancellations to several disruptions, including another UK air traffic control system collapse, air traffic controller strikes in Belgium and eruptions from Mount Etna in Sicily.
The airline's traffic growth was also reflected in its rolling 12-month figures. Ryanair carried 215.1 million passengers in the 12 months through September 2026, up 5% from the 203.9 million passengers recorded in the comparable period a year earlier.
The rolling load factor remained at 94%, matching the figure reported for the previous 12-month period.
September's figures come during one of the busiest periods of the European aviation calendar, with airlines operating large summer schedules while beginning the transition toward the winter season.
