Royal Caribbean continues to unveil its new ship, Hero of the Seas, set to begin service from Miami in August 2027, now featuring one of the world's most recognizable family entertainment brands: SpongeBob.

The company announced that The SpongeBob Musical will debut on the Hero of the Seas at the Royal Theater, marking the first sea performance of its kind. The show will be based on the successful Broadway musical and the well-known Bikini Bottom universe from the Nickelodeon series.

The announcement comes less than a month after Hero of the Seas was first launched in the waters at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, a significant milestone in its construction toward delivery and service initiation.

Hero of the Seas will be the fourth ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class series, designed to carry forward the company's blend of family vacation experiences, water parks, cuisine, entertainment, and adult-only areas. The ship will feature eight distinct neighborhoods filled with a variety of new and familiar attractions.

Already unveiled features include 9 pools and 28 restaurants, including the Orleans Parish Supper Club, as well as the Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-story family suite.

For thrill-seekers, the ship offers Crown’s Edge, combining sky trails and rope gliding around 46 meters above sea level. Alternatively, guests seeking a more relaxed vacation can enjoy Coconut Cove and The Hideaway, an adult-only area.

The Hero of the Seas voyages will set off from Miami on seven-night itineraries in the eastern and western Caribbean. Each cruise will also include a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. Bookings are now open to Israeli travelers through Snorama, Royal Caribbean's exclusive representative in Israel.

Adding The SpongeBob Musical enhances Hero of the Seas' status as a large-scale family entertainment ship. Rather than just offering physical attractions, Royal Caribbean, represented in Israel by Snorama, invests in well-known stage productions as part of an effort to turn the ship into a complete vacation destination.

The combination of SpongeBob, enormous attractions, restaurants, pools, and high-altitude experiences makes Hero of the Seas one of the most intriguing ships ahead of 2027, even before it has set sail.

Hero of the Seas is part of the Icon series, through which Royal Caribbean continues to expand its range of attractions, entertainment, cuisine, and family activities on board its new ships.

The announcement about SpongeBob complements previous reveals about the ship, which touched the waters in 2026 and is now being completed in preparation for its service entry.
