Marriott International has reached an agreement with Townhouse Hotels to add eight hotels and more than 700 rooms to its portfolio in the Netherlands, including the introduction of Series by Marriott to the Dutch market.

The deal covers properties in five Dutch cities, with Marriott expanding its presence in Amsterdam, Breda and The Hague while entering Maastricht and Eindhoven for the first time.

Six of the hotels are expected to join Series by Marriott, while two independent properties will become part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio.

The Series by Marriott properties include Townhouse Amsterdam WTC, a 84-room hotel in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district that will be rebranded from Hotel Qbic WTC Amsterdam. Townhouse The Hague will have 88 rooms, while three properties in Maastricht will add 82, 55 and 79 rooms respectively.

The sixth Series property will be Townhouse Breda, which is expected to operate with 106 rooms following the rebranding of Hotel Keyser. It will be the largest of the six Series by Marriott hotels included in the agreement.

Marriott will also add two hotels to Tribute Portfolio, its collection of independent properties. The ALD Hotel The Hague will have 91 rooms and will focus on a boutique format in the center of the Dutch capital.

Hotel Mariënhage Eindhoven will join the same collection with 134 rooms. The property is located within a former monastery complex and will mark Marriott’s entry into Eindhoven, a major technology and business center in the Netherlands.

The agreement also marks Marriott’s entry into Maastricht, where three of the planned Series by Marriott properties are located.

Series by Marriott brings established regional hotel brands under a single Marriott collection while allowing individual properties to retain their local identity. The brand is being introduced in the Netherlands through the Townhouse Hotels portfolio.

“This agreement represents a significant milestone for Marriott International in the Netherlands,” said Jerome Briet, Marriott’s Chief Development Officer for Europe, Middle East & Africa. He said the agreement would expand the company’s presence in several Dutch destinations while adding new independent hospitality concepts.

Townhouse Hotels Managing Partner Joost Mees said the agreement would support the company’s long-term plans and give its hotels access to Marriott’s global platform. Townhouse CEO Rick de Jonge described the deal as a new stage for the company and its properties.

As of the second quarter of 2026, Marriott operates more than 30 properties across 12 brands in the Netherlands. Its existing portfolio includes Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, W Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Tribute Portfolio, Autograph Collection, Courtyard, Moxy, Residence Inn, Element, Design Hotels and citizenM.

The eight properties covered by the Townhouse agreement will further expand Marriott’s presence across the Dutch hotel market once the planned rebrandings and affiliations are completed.
