Marriott International has brought its Series by Marriott brand to South Korea for the first time with the opening of Anook Signature Seoul Guro, a 104-room hotel in the southwestern part of Seoul.
The opening marks another step in the brand’s expansion across Asia Pacific. Series by Marriott launched globally in India in 2025 before entering Japan in April 2026. Marriott expects three more Series by Marriott properties to open in South Korea by the end of 2026, in Insadong in Seoul, Guwol in Incheon and Haeundae in Busan.

Its location also provides access to Guro, Gasan and Yeouido, making it suitable for both business travelers and visitors exploring western Seoul.
Anook Signature Seoul Guro is about 16 kilometers from Gimpo International Airport and 57 kilometers from Incheon International Airport.
The hotel’s concept is built around the Korean idea of comfort and rest. The name Anook comes from a Korean word associated with coziness, while the property has developed what it calls a “Recovery Ritual” combining sauna, Korean dining and sleep.
The design follows a “Layered Urban Retreat” concept, using warm wood tones, clean lines and indirect lighting to create a quieter environment inside the hotel.

The hotel has 104 guestrooms and suites, ranging from standard rooms to Junior and Penthouse Suites. Rooms include individual climate control, 43-inch LED televisions, and dedicated work areas.
Some larger suites have separate living spaces or in-room whirlpools, and accessible accommodations are also available.
Food is another central part of the hotel experience. Anook Restaurant serves Korean cuisine, tying the property’s dining offering to its broader focus on local hospitality.
Guests can also use the hotel’s sauna and complimentary fitness center. For business travelers and smaller groups, the property has meeting facilities and a business center.
Additional spaces include a rooftop lounge and outdoor terrace, giving guests options beyond their rooms for working, meeting or relaxing.
Cristiano Rinaldi, Marriott International’s Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer for Asia Pacific excluding China, said the Series by Marriott concept is designed to bring regional hotel groups into Marriott’s portfolio while retaining their local character.
The South Korean launch also gives Marriott Bonvoy members another property where they can earn points and use the program’s digital services.
With three more Korean hotels planned before the end of 2026, the opening in Guro is expected to be the first of several Series by Marriott additions in the country this year. The expansion will take the brand beyond Seoul’s business districts and into additional urban and leisure destinations across South Korea.
