Romania's national airline, TAROM, is warning passengers that temporary problems with its website and booking system could affect ticket purchases and the display of available seats on international flights in the coming days.
The Romanian airline said on October 6 that its flight operations are continuing normally, despite public rumors about possible problems.
According to TAROM, the airline is currently updating its website and checking its booking system. During this work, passengers may have difficulty purchasing tickets online.
The airline also cautioned that the seat availability shown on its website may not always match the real-time situation in its booking system. TAROM said this issue could be particularly relevant to international flights.
Passengers who are unable to complete a booking or who are unsure whether seats are actually available are being asked to contact the airline's Call Center. TAROM says its representatives can directly verify seat availability and assist with reservations and ticket purchases.
TAROM said it is working to complete the website updates as quickly as possible and apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
TAROM has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since 2010. The carrier operates a fleet of 14 aircraft and serves more than 50 destinations through its own flights and codeshare partnerships.
Recently, the airline introduced its second Boeing 737 MAX 8, marking the occasion with an inaugural flight from Bucharest to Chisinau.
The aircraft, named “Ivan Patzaichin” after the legendary Romanian canoeist, was flown to Romania directly from Seattle by TAROM crews.
The new aircraft is part of TAROM’s ongoing Boeing 737 MAX fleet renewal. The airline received its first 737 MAX 8 in September. Named “Mircea Lucescu” after the Romanian football manager, it was also flown from Seattle to Bucharest by TAROM crews before entering commercial service.
