Air India is increasing its service between Sydney and Delhi, adding four weekly flights and around 170,000 seats annually to the Sydney market.
The additional services will increase Air India’s Sydney-Delhi schedule from seven to 11 flights per week, giving passengers more options for travel between Australia and India as well as onward connections to the UK and Europe.

The airline will also introduce a larger aircraft on the route. From December 5, 2026, Air India will begin operating Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on selected Sydney-Delhi services. The airline plans to use the aircraft across all Sydney flights from January 1, 2027.

The additional flights come as Air India continues to expand its international network and increase capacity on routes connecting India with major markets.
For passengers, the extra services provide more flexibility when traveling between Sydney and Delhi, while the larger Boeing 777-300ER will add further capacity once it becomes the standard aircraft for the airline’s Sydney services.
