Marriott International has signed an agreement with FICO Corporation to bring seven new hotels to Thailand, adding 1,262 rooms across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.

Three Marriott Brands Enter the Thai Market

The expansion will introduce three Marriott brands to the Thai market for the first time: citizenM, Four Points Flex by Sheraton and Series by Marriott. It will also expand the JW Marriott brand in the country.

The largest part of the new portfolio will be in Bangkok, where five hotels are planned.

JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn is expected to have 288 rooms and will combine luxury accommodation with sports, fitness and wellness facilities, alongside lifestyle spaces.

citizenM will make its Thailand debut with citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11, a 147-room property in the Sukhumvit district. The hotel is planned around the brand's focus on technology, contemporary design and service, with a food and beverage venue also planned.

Three Four Points Flex by Sheraton hotels will also join the Bangkok portfolio. Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 8 is expected to have 162 rooms, while Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 14 will have 130 rooms. The 201-room Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Surawong will be located in an area known for its heritage.

The three properties are planned close to Bangkok's BTS Skytrain network and will target travelers looking for convenient accommodation with an emphasis on reliability, efficiency and value.

Outside the capital, Marriott's newest collection brand, Series by Marriott, will make its debut in Thailand with two resort properties.

Easy Planet North Pattaya, Series by Marriott, is planned with 192 rooms, while Easy Planet Phuket Patong, Series by Marriott, will have 142 rooms. The brand is designed around approachable stays that reflect the character of individual destinations while maintaining consistent Marriott standards.

The new agreement expands an existing relationship between Marriott and FICO Corporation. The companies already operate four hotels in Bangkok under four Marriott brands: Hotel Muse Bangkok, Autograph Collection; Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok Townhall Sukhumvit; Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit; and Metropole Bangkok, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

Once the new properties are added, the partnership is expected to cover 11 hotels across eight brands in Thailand, including the three brands making their national debut.

Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, said the expansion reflects the companies' plans to respond to changing traveler preferences and develop properties across both urban and leisure destinations.

FICO Corporation Chairman Krit Srichawla said wellness, sports and lifestyle are expected to play a growing role in how people travel and live, adding that the new projects will focus on experiences for both guests and surrounding communities.
