Passengers traveling to and from Rome Fiumicino Airport should check late-night train schedules on six dates in October, as planned railway works will affect the Leonardo Express service connecting the airport with central Rome.
What Travelers Must Know
According to Aeroporti di Roma, Trenitalia will introduce timetable changes on October 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16. The final trains will depart earlier than usual on these dates, so passengers planning late arrivals or departures should allow extra time for their journeys.
On October 9 and 10, the last Leonardo Express train departing from Fiumicino Airport will leave at 11:23 p.m. The last train arriving at the airport will reach Fiumicino at 11:07 p.m.
From October 12 through 16, the timetable changes will begin earlier in the evening. The last departure from Fiumicino Airport will be at 10:38 p.m., while the last train arriving at the airport will reach it at 10:22 p.m.
The changes are due to scheduled engineering work on the railway network. Travelers are advised to check the updated timetable before setting off, particularly if they are arriving on late flights or need to reach the airport for an early departure.
The Leonardo Express is a rail connection between Fiumicino Airport and Rome's Termini station, a major transport hub in the Italian capital. Passengers traveling outside the revised operating hours may need to consider alternative transport arrangements.
