Singapore police will introduce vehicle security checks and temporary road access changes around Our Tampines Hub, a venue that hosts a football pitch, as well as a multi-purpose sports hall, a Performing Arts Center, a regional library, an atrium, a roof park, and food and retail stores.
Starting Time and What to Expect
The restrictions will be in place on October 10, with authorities warning motorists to expect delays during a People’s Association event.
The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with vehicle security checks in the surrounding area beginning at 6:30 a.m., according to a notice issued by the Singapore Police Force on October 9.
Motorists heading to the venue have been advised to enter via Tampines Avenue 4. Carpark entrances along Tampines Walk and Tampines Street 82 will be closed during the event as part of the security arrangements.
Tampines Avenue 4 will also serve as the access route to the designated pick-up and drop-off point at the venue’s South Plaza.
Two transport facilities will be unavailable during the event: the taxi stand at North Plaza and the taxi stand at Arena @ Our Tampines Hub.
Cars May Be Towed
Police have urged drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and consider taking public transport instead. Officers will be conducting checks as part of the event’s security operations, and motorists are expected to follow instructions from the authorities.
Vehicles parked illegally or obstructing other road users may be towed, police warned.
The temporary measures are intended to support security operations and traffic management during the gathering. Members of the public visiting the area have been asked to cooperate with the arrangements and plan their travel in advance.
Our Tampines Hub is a major community and lifestyle destination in eastern Singapore, bringing together sports facilities, dining outlets and public spaces. The planned restrictions may affect visitors, residents and motorists using the surrounding roads during the morning event.
