The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a recommendation for the country's citizens to avoid any non-essential travel to Saudi Arabia, in light of security developments in the Middle East and restrictions affecting Saudi airspace.

The ministry's announcement stated that the recommendation was given following an assessment of the changing regional situation and the restrictions on aviation in Saudi Arabia, which may affect flight options and movement to and from the country.

Greek citizens staying in Saudi Arabia were asked to contact their airlines to update flight status, follow official announcements, and act in accordance with the instructions of local authorities.

The warning comes amid regional tensions and their potential impact on aviation activity in the Middle East. However, the Foreign Ministry statement did not detail specific aviation restrictions or changes to the flight schedule, although Greek airline AEGEAN has suspended its flights to Riyadh.
