Drivers heading to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York will need to follow a new route into the Terminal 5 parking garage starting Monday, October 19, as the airport introduces a new parking entry ramp.
JFK Airport announced the change in a notice advising customers and employees who park at Terminal 5 to allow extra time and follow posted signs when approaching the garage.
The new access route is part of the ongoing changes at the airport as redevelopment work continues. The airport has warned motorists to expect possible delays and detours across its road network during construction.
What Is Changing at Terminal 5?
From October 19, drivers entering the Terminal 5 parking garage must use the new entry ramp. The previous access route through Level 1 of the garage is no longer available.
The entry toll plaza remains unchanged, meaning drivers can continue to approach it as usual to take a parking ticket or scan their E-ZPass.
JFK Airport advises drivers who are unfamiliar with the new route to plan for additional travel time and pay attention to directional signage.
The new parking entry arrangement is listed as ongoing, with no end date announced.
