In exactly five days, on October 25, the winter flight schedule for the 2026/27 season begins across the Northern Hemisphere. Frankfurt Airport (FRA) announces a network of 231 destinations in 92 countries, served by 80 airlines.
According to airport management, activity will include about 3,400 departures per week and about 650,000 seats weekly. The winter schedule will last until March 27, 2027.
A key innovation is the plan to expand connectivity to the Middle East, despite the complex security situation. Air Arabia from the United Arab Emirates will join operations in Frankfurt for the first time and will launch a daily service to Sharjah, its main base of operations, on December 15.
At the same time, Condor will launch a daily flight to Abu Dhabi on November 4, in partnership with Etihad Airways, which will continue to Bangkok. Etihad itself will add an additional daily flight to Abu Dhabi starting in December, so that passengers can enjoy up to three flights a day on the route.
New Line to Malaysia, Expansion of Operations in India
In Asia, Lufthansa will add a new destination to its network with direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, five times a week. Air India will increase flight frequency from Delhi and Mumbai, with 13 weekly flights to Delhi and six to Mumbai. Connectivity to China and Uzbekistan will also be maintained through the continued operation of airlines operating routes to these destinations.
In Europe, Condor will continue to operate up to three flights a day to London Gatwick, while DAT will continue to operate flights to Linz, Austria, even in the winter.
In Africa, Discover Airlines will launch its first winter flights to Frankfurt-Agadir, Morocco, twice a week. Royal Air Maroc will convert its seasonal route to Nador into a year-round route.
