Flights to and from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas are experiencing delays due to weather conditions and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) staffing, according to an airport travel advisory.
Passengers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight status information and updates before heading to the airport.
Over an Hour and a Half of Delays
According to the FAA's National Airspace System, flights departing for Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas are facing average delays of 97 minutes due to rain, according to an FAA ground delay notice issued on October 22.
The Ground Delay Program is scheduled to run from midnight to 10:59 a.m. on October 23, in GMT+3 time. The restrictions apply to departures from across the contiguous United States heading to Las Vegas.
Under the program, affected flights are assigned Expected Departure Clearance Times (EDCTs), which determine when aircraft may depart for the airport. The measure is intended to manage arrivals while weather conditions affect airport operations.
The FAA notice lists arrival runways 19R/26L and departure runways 19L/26R, with an arrival rate of 44.
