Marriott Bonvoy and Samsung Card have launched a premium co-branded credit card in South Korea, offering automatic Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, hotel points on everyday purchases and free-night awards worth up to 60,000 points.
The Marriott Bonvoy THE PRESTIGE Samsung Card is designed for South Korean travelers who want to earn hotel loyalty rewards through daily spending, overseas purchases and stays at participating Marriott properties. The partnership combines Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands with Samsung Card’s reported 11.6 million cardholders.
The card carries an annual fee of KRW 1 million ($755). Cardholders receive Gold Elite status upon approval and can qualify for Platinum Elite status by spending KRW 12 million ($9,062) in the first year or KRW 24 million ($18,125) in subsequent years, subject to the card’s eligibility terms.
Free Nights and Points on Everyday Spending
Cardholders can receive a Free Night Award worth up to 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after reaching the required cumulative spending threshold: KRW 12 million in the first year and KRW 24 million in subsequent years.
An additional Free Night Award worth 50,000 points is available after KRW 50 million ($37,750) in cumulative spending within a 12-month period. This means eligible cardholders can earn two free-night awards within 12 months, subject to the applicable terms.
The standard earning rate is two Marriott Bonvoy points for every KRW 1,500 ($1,13) spent. Purchases at participating Marriott properties and overseas transactions earn an additional four points per KRW 1,500, while spending at golf courses, duty-free shops, airlines and department stores earns an additional two points per KRW 1,500. Bonus points in both categories are capped at 10,000 per month.
Cardholders who spend KRW 5 million on overseas transactions within a 12-month period can also receive 3,000 bonus points.
Airport Lounges and Hotel Benefits
The card includes access to Martina Gold Lounge three times per year and access to local and overseas airport lounges up to 12 times annually.
Cardholders can also receive a KRW 30,000 ($22.64) credit toward dining and stays at participating Marriott Bonvoy properties in South Korea, available six times per year. The card is offered in two material options, allowing customers to choose between different designs.
The launch also includes two limited-time offers for new cardholders.
Applicants approved between October 22 and November 30, 2026, who spend KRW 4 million ($3,020) between October 22 and December 31 can qualify for Platinum Elite status. Separately, customers who obtain the card by December 20, 2026, are eligible for 15 Elite Night Credits, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.
John Toomey, Marriott International’s Chief Commercial Officer for Asia Pacific excluding China, said the partnership would give Korean members more ways to turn everyday spending into travel experiences.
Samsung Card’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, Dae-soon Kim, said the card combines the company’s local expertise with Marriott Bonvoy’s hotel network to serve the preferences of South Korea’s premium travelers.
The companies said the product reflects findings from Marriott Bonvoy’s Loyalty Trends Report 2026, which identified co-branded cards, hotel stays and the ability to redeem rewards for expenses such as dining as priorities among Korean travelers.
