AirTrain JFK services will face overnight service disruptions on October 27 and 28 as scheduled maintenance requires free shuttle buses to replace train service on affected routes, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The disruptions will take place on two consecutive nights, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. Travelers using John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York are advised to allow extra time to reach their terminals.
On the first night, from Tuesday, October 27, through Wednesday morning, October 28, free shuttle buses will serve passengers traveling from Howard Beach, Lefferts Boulevard and Federal Circle to the airline terminals.
The second disruption will begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, and continue until 6 a.m. Thursday, October 29. Passengers should follow airport signage and instructions from staff to identify the appropriate shuttle service.
The Port Authority said the AirTrain will continue operating between Jamaica Station and Federal Circle during the scheduled work. Shuttle buses will provide alternative transportation on affected routes, and customer service agents will be available at stations to assist travelers.
Passengers connecting to the subway, Long Island Rail Road or other ground transportation should factor the changes into their travel plans, particularly if they have an early-morning flight.
The airport advises travelers to follow posted signs at ground-level shuttle pickup points and budget additional time for the journey.
