Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has introduced electronic flight strips for air traffic controllers, becoming the 26th facility in the United States to implement the technology, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The system replaces traditional paper flight strips with electronic versions, helping controllers manage flight information and plan aircraft movements more efficiently.

The FAA said the technology is part of its broader effort to modernize the nation's air traffic control system. Electronic flight strips allow controllers to access and update flight data digitally, supporting the coordination of aircraft movements and day-to-day operations.

Atlanta is the busiest airports in the United States, making the introduction of digital tools an important step in the modernization of its air traffic control operations.

The FAA has been promoting new technologies under its Modern Skies initiative, which focuses on upgrading the infrastructure and systems used to manage air traffic across the country.

The agency said Atlanta is the 26th facility to adopt electronic flight strips, although it did not specify in its announcement which locations will implement the technology next.
