Discover Airlines, the leisure airline of the Lufthansa Group, has revealed the first destinations where it will operate the Airbus A350-900 aircraft joining its fleet. At the center of the plan: a first entry into Central America, with flights to San Jose, Costa Rica, and Belize City.
Starting December 14, 2027, Discover Airlines will operate the Frankfurt-San Jose route, increasing frequency from five to six flights per week. Two of the weekly flights will continue from San Jose to Belize City, from where they will return to Frankfurt as part of a three-way route.
According to the current plan, the first A350 will join the company in June 2027. In the first weeks, it will operate on a short route for training purposes, and later it is expected to be integrated into flights from Frankfurt to Calgary or Orlando.
The second aircraft is scheduled to join in December 2027, in preparation for routes to Central America.
Two more aircraft are expected to join in the summer of 2028. By mid-2028, the company plans to increase its long-haul fleet to 20 aircraft. Nine more A350-900 aircraft are expected to be added later, gradually replacing the A330-300 aircraft.
