A major move in the Gulf hotel industry: IHG Group is adding Yas World Resort on Yas Island to its luxury and lifestyle brand Vignette Collection, making it the brand’s largest resort in the world. Six hotels with different characters, a private beach, pools, spa complexes, and dozens of entertainment and culinary options will unite under one hospitality experience in the heart of one of Abu Dhabi’s most sought-after tourism and entertainment areas.
The complex, formerly known as Yas Plaza Hotels and developed by real estate company Aldar, includes more than 1,400 rooms and suites, along with 21 restaurants and bars, a private beach and a variety of recreational and entertainment facilities.
This is not about building six new hotels, but rather a process of rebranding and unifying existing hotels under a shared resort complex, allowing guests to enjoy the facilities and services of the entire complex.
One of Yas World Resort's most prominent features is the combination of six hotels with distinct design identities and hospitality experiences, operating within a shared complex.
The new hotels within the Vignette Collection are:
Verde: inspired by the mangrove landscapes surrounding the island.
Vista: a hotel inspired by the bay views.
Pulse: a hotel inspired by the world of racing and motor sports.
Horizon: a hotel that corresponds with the marina and the marine atmosphere.
Fairway: inspired by the island's golf courses.
Haven: a hotel that emphasizes comfort and space, including for extended stays.
Despite each hotel's separate identity, guests can enjoy a variety of shared services and facilities, depending on the terms of accommodation.
Private Beach, Six Pools and Three Spa Complexes
Beyond the scope of guest rooms, the complex offers extensive recreation infrastructure designed for families, couples, groups and business travelers.
At the heart of the hospitality experience is Cyan Beach, a private beach offering relaxation areas and food and beverage services facing the sea.
Guests also have access to six swimming pools, three spa complexes, three children's clubs, gyms, and paddle, tennis, and squash courts.
One advantage of the complex is the ability to combine a relaxing vacation with the entertainment, sports, and attractions of Yas Island, without moving between different hotels.
Alongside the resort facilities, IHG places a special emphasis on culinary delights, with 21 restaurants, bars and food and beverage outlets throughout the complex. The offerings include cafes, family restaurants, all-day dining options and evening entertainment venues.
The concept is designed to allow guests to choose between different culinary styles and atmospheres, without leaving the complex.
In the Heart of One of the Largest Entertainment Areas in the Middle East
Yas World Resort is located on Yas Island, one of Abu Dhabi's main tourist and entertainment hubs.
The area is home to prominent international attractions, including Ferrari World Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Yas Island and Yas Waterworld.
The island also houses the Yas Marina Circuit racetrack, the Etihad Arena events complex, the Yas Mall shopping center, and the Yas Links Golf Club.
The combination of hotels, amusement parks, sporting events, culinary and shopping allows Abu Dhabi to develop a tourism product that appeals to a wide range of audiences.
As part of its membership with the Vignette Collection brand, the complex will also incorporate experiences inspired by the heritage and culture of the UAE.
Among other things, guests will be offered a traditional Emirati-inspired welcome, alongside a unique fragrance experience created in collaboration with House of Artisans Abu Dhabi, an initiative to preserve local handicrafts.
Guests will also be able to be exposed to traditional art and crafts by local artists, with proceeds from their sales going to support the artists and preserve the heritage.
Haitham Mattar, IHG's director for India, the Middle East and Africa, noted in the company's announcement that the addition of the complex strengthens the group's portfolio of luxury and lifestyle brands and reflects the tourism industry's growth ambitions in Abu Dhabi.
Aldar also emphasizes that the move is part of a long-term strategy to transform Yas Island into an international vacation and entertainment destination. Further upgrades are planned for the complex in the areas of culinary, health and sports.
IHG One Rewards loyalty club members can earn and redeem points at the six hotels, in accordance with the program's terms.
